My hand-made fabric begins with a silk base. Sometimes I hand dye the material. I apply a fine layer of merino wool and then add silk and viscous fibers on top of the wool. I also make paper out of viscous fibers and place it on the silk and wool base. The fiber is felted, rinsed and blocked before it is sewn into a one-of-a-kind piece of clothing. I love using the back of my clothing as a canvas. I keep the front of my work simple, to allow the wearer to highlight a special piece of jewelry.
